Welcome to TAG!

Welcome to The Aspie Geek (TAG for short), a blog written by an 18-year old Aspie who wishes to talk about his life and the life of others around him. Learn about how different life could be if your thought processes were a tad different than others' processes. If you never knew about how an Aspie thinks and/or not know what an Aspie was, now is your chance to know - to live vicariously through one's eyes and see what makes us both different and just the same. Now, enter the world through the eyes of an Aspie and think of the world around you in a different way.

For those who don't know what an Aspie is, it is someone diagnosed with a mild form of autism called Asperger's Syndrome, either by official diagnosis or self-suspected. Asperger's Syndrome, herein called AS, is not a joke or a fake disease; it's real as ever and up to 1 in 160 people are born with it. If you think it's just an excuse for people who aren't social or are weird, you are highly mistaken.

For those who joke about its name, such as calling it "Ass-Burgers", I pity you and your lack of a "clever" play-on word that is just flat-out offensive to us Aspies. It may look like it should say "As-perger" with a 'P', but the dude who founded it lived in Austria so they must've pronounced it as 'B'.

Okay, this will wrap it up. Sit down, strap in, and learn what it's like to be an Aspie. Hey, you might pick up a thing or two about stuff you never really thought about. Bai nao!

Think you might be an Aspie? Take this quiz and see if you could be an Aspie. If you are, then kudos to you! If not, at least you'll have an Aspie friend. :)
